Wine is about passion

Adrian and Hollie Joy Hilde love wine, and they love sharing it! At the end of a recent and "Sideways" trip to the Santa Ynez, CA wine country, the couple was saddened that their favorite Whatcom County wineries did not get the same attention. Hollie's Uncle Mitch was the driver for the family tour and wasn't able to share in the tasting experience. The couple encouraged Hollie's Uncle Mitch to come to Whatcom County to visit their favorite wineries. However, the thought of a cab taking them from winery to winery sounded less and less romantic.

On the ride back home to Uncle Mitch's house came the idea of starting a wine tasting tour to service the Hilde's favorite boutique wineries in Whatcom County.  Within two weeks, the couple purchased a van, and were ready to share their beloved Whatcom County Wineries with everyone.

"My favorite aspects about Bellingham and Whatcom County wineries are of course the great tasting wines, but also the beauty of their locations, and the winemakers themselves. They have such passion for their craft that you can't help but be drawn to their wineries again and again," Hollie Joy said. "I can truly taste their passion in the wines."

"I love wine too, and I love learning about the processes, and meeting the winemakers. They really want to share their love of wine-making with everyone," Adrian said.

"I hope that by offering the tours, we can bring more attention to these amazing winemakers and give them the notoriety that we feel they should have," Hollie Joy said. "So often when we tell people we went to a winery or two over the weekend, and they look at us funny and tell us they didn't know there were any. We hope we can help change that."
